Sara Hallahan, class of 2027, is a second year student at Penn State Brandywine, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. She is a Schreyer Scholar and a Cooper Honors Scholar. Sara is actively involved on campus as a member of the Lion Ambassadors, the Brandywine Events and Activities Student Team, the Student Initiated Fee Committee, and serves as the Executive Director for Brandywine Benefitting THON.

According to Brandywine Student Unmet Financial Need Survey:
- 50% of our student population met the criteria.
- 63% of students who responded skip meals because they do not have enough money.
- 87.65% of students are responsible for feeding and/or financially supporting themselves.
- 26% of students leave after their first year at Penn State Brandywine, and additional students do not return after their sophomore or junior years.
- 78% of the students who leave Penn State Brandywine are succeeding academically but face financial concerns.
Your gift to Socktober and Penn State Brandywine would help support these students. Gifts to Penn State Brandywine will support students who are dealing with homelessness or housing insecurities, unemployment, unexpected medical bills and more. Your gift will directly support a student in need as they continue on their journey to achieving the American dream of earning a college degree.
